CHEPSTOW Town 2nds secured a 4-4 home draw against Abercarn on Saturday, 16-year-old Mason Haysom firing a hat-trick as they fought back from 2-0 and 4-2 down.

Two down at half-time, they levelled within 10 minutes of the restart through Malique West and then Haysom.

But they trailed again 4-2 10 minutes from time, before Haysom replied for 4-3 straight from kick-off.

And three minutes later he was in again to make it all-square, which is how the South East Reserves League clash ended.

Chepstow Gwent Premier 2 neighbours Thornwell R&W also fired four at home, but without reply, comfortably beating second-placed Alway, Josh Pidden (31), Owain Westerman (32), Owen Badham (56) and Herbie Perry (85) with the goals.

Usk Town lost 3-2 at Pontnewynydd to leave them a point above the drop zone, Greg Harris and Gene Gurie their scorers.

But their 2nds filled their boots with an amazing 15-1 win over Gwent Central 2 basement boys Forgeside 2nds, Mark Davies firing six, Jamie Champion a hat-trick, Jim Robinson a brace and Hywell Gilbert, Luca Howells, Jake Lewis and Jake Reed a goal apiece.

Incredibly it was only 1-1 after 28 minutes, but the visitors' wheels then fell off with five more goals before half-time and nine more after the break.

Chepstow 3rds won 3-2 away to Undy 3rds in East Gwent One, Matthew Owen with a 75th-minute winner after strikes from Peter Haysom and Tom Collins.

Tintern Abbey stormed into the Fishwick Cup final with a 2-0 win away to Caldicot Castle 2nds, Jack Coleman and Tom Dimond their marksmen, and will play Severn Tunnel on April 5.

And Redbrook Rovers drew 2-2 at home to Redmarley in the North Gloucestershire One third-fourth clash, Ryan Frost and Joe Reeves their scorers.
