A breathtaking array of talent at Monmouth’s Got Talent pupils from Monmouth Comprehensive and Haberdashers school.
This year the event was held at Monmouth Comprehensive School on March 13 at 7pm.
The event was presented by Haberdashers and MCS students, who kept the audience entertained in between acts.
The judges Allan Waters, Anthony Smith, Cait Davies and Ella Young had a challenging decision as they to choose from 11 acts- Max and the Sulets, Issy Taylor, HZRD, Rowan Jenkins, Evie Jones, River Road, Emilia Roach- Rooke, Freya Piper, Josie Asbury, Alice and Amana, Niamh, Miriam and Carys and to finish the show, last year winner Florence Hills.
In first place, was Evie Jones, who sung an opera piece, “O mio babbino caro” from the opera Gianni Schicchi, who amazed the audience with this piece. Evie said, “I sing, and I have since I was young.”
The runner up was band ‘River Road’, who have been playing since 2023 and have recently “started writing their own material”. However, at the show they brought to the audience a classic, “somebody told me” By the Killers.
In third place was MCS student Freya Piper, who had been playing violin for an amazing 12 years, Freya said: “music has been such an important part of my life.”
All donations made during the talent show went to “Ted Senior Foundation”, they support people struggling with mental health issues and provide bereavement support to those in need.
