Mitchel Troy’s community hall will mark its 50th anniversary with a garden party celebration next month.

The event will bring together residents from the village and surrounding areas for an afternoon of festivities and community spirit.

The event will run from 12pm to 10:30pm on Saturday, April 5, and promises something for everyone.

Tickets for the event will include food, with both vegetarian and child-friendly options available.

The hall has been a valued part of the community since the 1930s, originally established as a charity to provide leisure and educational facilities for the people of Mitchel Troy and the surrounding area.

Over the years, it has hosted countless events, from musical performances and quiz nights to community fundraisers and social gatherings. One of its most popular regular events is Coffi Troddi, a monthly coffee morning that brings residents together for tea, cake, and conversation while also helping to support the hall.

Next month’s event will also mark the official opening of the garden, with food and drinks available for guests to enjoy while spending time with the community.

Fundraisers for the event include Reg Moulton, who will officially open the garden, and Eileen Williams. A hog roast by 'Pigs on Spits' will be served from 12:30pm to 2pm, followed by tea and biscuits on sale from 3pm.

Throughout the day, there will be games and craft activities for all ages, along with displays from local organisations and groups who use the hall, showcasing the variety of events and activities it supports.

Visitors will have the chance to take part in activities, learn more about the hall, and meet others from the community.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and teens, £5 for children aged 3-12, and £25 for a family ticket (two adults and two children).
