Young people in Monmouth are supported by The Attik youth centre, which provides an open space for them to connect and feel safe within the community.
The Attik youth centre is an open space where young people ages 11-18 can go and spend their time in a safe environment.
Formerly based in Estero Lounge on Monnow Street, The Attik is now located next to Monmouth Library, where it provides a hub for young people to relax, socialise, and access support.

Beyond being a drop-in centre, The Attik also plays an active role in enriching the lives of young people by organising exciting trips to popular destinations such as Alton Towers and Thorpe Park. These trips are not just about fun and adventure; they also give young people the opportunity to have a say in where they go.
Lead youth worker Gavin Breen told the Monmouthshire Beacon: “Last year we put on a dedicated day for people transitioning to secondary school. It was a chance for them to meet other children in the same situation, and this took place around April-May.”
The centre also offers free meals every Thursday, making sure young people have access to a nutritious meal during the week. Last year, they handed out an impressive 2,000 meals
Funding from the council has helped support the centre’s initiatives, ensuring that young people have access to positive experiences and activities.
Youth worker Natasha Lowther explained: “It’s a safe place for people to come - whether they want to relax, have fun with their friends, or need additional support.”
“For some young people we are their emotional support,” she said.
The Attik aims to create a positive, welcoming space in Monmouth where young people can feel heard, valued, and supported, giving them a place to truly belong within the community.
