Gibraltar Nursing Home is based in Monmouth and is a purpose- built home with picturesque views of The Kymin and the Wye Valley.

The nursing home recently held a pizza party for their residents in their style of restaurant called, The Pillars. They converted a part of the nursing home into a restaurant to bring a sense of normality back into the residents' lives.

The nursing home in Monmouth held a pizza party for the residents to enjoy, whilst the resident's family and members of the care home also participated in the event creating their own pizzas.

The event was Italian to coincide with the choice of cuisine, using checkered tablecloths, takeaway pizza boxes with The Pillars logo along with red, white and green balloons.

The nursing home also supports family members in maintaining the routines and connections that are most meaningful to them.

Verity Walmsley, Home Manager said, “It was wonderful to see so many people come together for the event. Having Pillars restaurant service as a social hub for our home fosters a strong sense of community. We look forward to the similar events we have planned in the future”.

Each person that may need support is unique and by being understanding of peoples’ own life journey and coming together to create a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home it provides a sense of security and reassurance for the residents and their family members that they are in a comforted environment.

The team at Gibraltar Nursing Home creates a place where everyone feels safe and never alone and their approach to life recognises the values, beliefs and identity of each person.
