This year’s lantern parade on Fri Dec 6 is inspired by steampunk andbegins at Monnow Bridge Gatehouse from 6pm, where you will be entertained by street entertainers Fiery Jack and Wonderbrass band. Please join us with your wonderful lanterns to illuminate the streets of Monmouth.

At 6.30pm Father Christmas (with help from Monmouth Rotary Club) will lead the parade through Monnow Street to Agincourt Square where you will be greeted with a performance from Monmouth Male Voice Choir and the Good Day choir leading the crowds with Christmas carols as well as live performances on stage from local primary schools and community choirs.

The Christmas Lantern Parade is a free event funded by Monmouth Town Council. There will be a Christmas craft fayre in the Shire Hall.

In November there will be free workshops running where you can make your lantern ready for the event. To book a space on a workshop please message Joanne Stephens 07561 107979. See Monmouth Christmas Lantern Parade Facebook page for more details
