If you’re planning a journey along the A40 this week, overnight closures between 8pm and 6am will be in place near Monmouth to allow National highways to safely continue their work at Leys Bend:
From December 10 to 13 and 16 December: A40 eastbound closed between Dixton roundabout and Whitchurch.
They will be installing a contraflow which will provide their r teams with a safe space to remove debris, clear vegetation and continue survey work, ensuring the A40 remains open in both directions.
During closures, clearly signed diversion routes will be in place👇
HGV and long-distance traffic: diversions via the M5 and M4.
Local traffic: diversions via Abergavenny, the A465 to Hereford and then the A49 to Ross on Wye.
