DURING Sunday’s blazing hot weather Monmouth Tri Club’s James Peters smashed the Nottingham Outlaw Weekend Triathlon, finishing 128 out of 498 and 16 out of 64 in his age group of 40-44.

Due to blooming blue-green algae the swim was replaced with a 5km run which James sped through in 21.26, followed up by a 112 mile cycle in 5.53.36 and a marathon run in 4.14.56.

James’  young boys helped him over the finish line, and completed the Future Outlaw 1.2 mile fun run, earning the trio medals and matching tattoos.
