ROCKFIELD Rovers were on fire winning 5-3 at home to Portskewett & Sudbrook in East Gwent 2 on Saturday to make it two wins from two.

The visitors led 1-0 after just two minutes before two first half goals from Tommy Tynan – the second in injury time – and a Tom Mulvaney strike put Rockfeld on top.

Port pulled one back shortly after the restart before drama in stoppage time saw Max Goodridge and Tynan with his hat-trick make it 5-2 and the visitors then add a last-kick third.

Victory leaves Rockfield level at the top with Severn Tunnel, with the two set to meet at Rovers’ ground this Saturday (September 14).

Goals from Darryl Reynolds, Taka Yamagata and Gwill Jenkins also helped Tintern Abbey to a 3-1 win away to Sudbrook CC 2nds in the same division, with Rovers their next leage opponents at home on September 28.

Elsewhere Tom Maxted fired two for Redbrook Rovers at Longhope in North Gloucestershire One, but the Wyesiders just missed out 3-2 to sit seventh.

And their 2nds were on the end of the same scoreline at home to Harrow Hill A in NG2, leaving them ninth.

The 1sts host Tidenham on Saturday, while the 2nds are away to Ellwood 2nds.
