UNBEATEN Gwent Central 2 leaders Glascoed marched on to a 16th straight win on Saturday, hammering Usk 2nds 7-0 at home.

The Green Army had no answer to the hosts’ onslaught, as Glascoed led 4-0 at the break and wrapped things up with three more afterwards, Jack Taylor firing four, Shane Davies a brace, and Matt Cameron one.

Pontypool Town 2nds have five games in hand in third 20 points behind, but if Glascoed win three of their last four games they cannot mathematically be caught.

Elsewhere, a Joe Stephens wonder goal helped put Redbrook Rovers through to the last eight of the North Gloucestershire George Sandoe Cup, Lewis Tyler, Dan Heaven and Cam Davies the other scorers in a 4-2 win at Ruardean United.

Rovers 2nds also won 3-2 at home to Whitecroft 2nds in North Gloucestershire 2, Cai Hawkins with a brace and Madi Cox also on target.

Downstream in Chepstow, East Gwent One bottom side Thornwell R&W 2nds sprang a shock beating leaders Sudbrook CC 2-0, Alfie Sessford and Herbie Perry the second half marksmen.

Back upstream, Tintern Abbey sank Sudbrook CC's 2nds 6-2 in East Gwent 2, Jack Coleman with a brace, backed by strikes from Rob Davies, Taka Yamagata, Ryan Marchant and Gwill Jenkins.

But second-placed Monmouth outfit Rockfield Rovers had to give second best 4-2 at leaders Severn Tunnel after leading 2-1 early on.

Goals from Ben Johnson (3) and Tommy Tynan (18) put the visitors in front, but Tunnel secured the points with three unanswered second half goals.
