SIR, Can I just say what a wonderful bunch of colleagues that I have had over the last 10 and a half years, I don't think I could have been any luckier! Coming into Adventa from a job where I worked in an office on my own for 17 years, it was great to share an office and have 'colleagues' for the first time. We've had some giggles along the way, some sad and testing times, but have got through it all with the aid of loads of cake and good friends around us. Having been born and brought up in the farming community of Monmouthshire, it has been rewarding for me to work in the rural areas of the county with like-minded people, and especially over the last three years, helping villages to produce their Community Led Plan. Can I thank you all for allowing me to infiltrate your villages, to work alongside me and making me feel so welcome. I have loved working with all of the many community groups over the lifespan of Adventa, and I'm sure if I added them up, it would be in the hundreds. The most fulfilling for me has been seeing some of the groups that I helped to form, blossom and move on to become social enterprises so they can achieve their vision. I'm sure there will be a few that I will continue to support as a volunteer (eg Monmouth Off Street Project) as in the new year we will have a new skatepark! Please keep in touch, the kettle will always be on, and I now will have more time to make cakes. My email is [email protected]">[email protected] Shirley Hughes (Raglan)
