A HIGH street store was allegedly broken into and £17,000 worth of stock stolen.
The burglary reportedly happened at the EE shop in Monnow Street, Monmouth, at around 9.50pm on Tuesday, March 19, when a storeroom was raided.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Three unknown offenders forced their way into the building and allegedly took items from the stockroom. Officers attended and enquiries are ongoing.

Police are also investigating two cases of criminal damage on Friday afternoon, March 8 – one in in the town’s Whitecross Street and another at St Mary’s Priory Church.
In the first case, police said: “Four youths are alleged to have used paint on a bin, bench and wall, sometime between 3pm and 5.10pm.
“Our enquiries are continuing. If you have any information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, please call us on 101, or direct message us on Facebook or X quoting log reference 2400078585.”
Officers are also investigating a report of criminal damage nearby after a group of teenagers reportedly caused damage to the church at around 3.20pm.
