The next instalment in Peter Bere’s exploration of Monmouthshire through the ages.

This week’s image shows the Old Cottage Hospital, Monmouth in the foreground, and the Monmouth Girls Grammar school in the background.

The Cottage Hospital was commissioned to replace the aging Monmouth Hospital and Dispensary in St James Square on the site, which had been previously occupied by the Monmouth County Gaol Circa 1916.

All printed images are available from Rhodri Clarke at the Monmouth printers, The Town Wall St, James Square, Monmouth, NP253DN.

The printing cost for an A3 colour image is £10, which includes £3 for the charity ‘Friends of The Earth’ to help tackle Climate Change.
