Gibraltar Nursing Home in Monmouth got a lovely visit on Christmas day from the Mayor of their town. David Evans, who is both the Mayor of Monmouth and the Councillor for the Wyesham Ward, came to visit the home with his wife and meet with the residents (whom we fondly call ‘family members’) and team members who were celebrating Christmas Day there at the home. Family members and the team were delighted to meet the Mayor and his wife Fiona, and enjoyed chatting with them about the home.

When asked about the visit, the Mayor said “It was a pleasure for my wife (and Mayor’s Consort) Fiona to revisit Gibraltar Care Home on Christmas Day to renew acquaintance with the residents and staff. It was immediately apparent that the ethos and atmosphere of the home had not changed since my wife’s parents resided there. We received a very warm reception from the manager Verity who put us into the capable hands of Viji to take us round the different floors. We met many members of staff who remembered us from our previous visits. It was humbling to meet residents and their families and to see how much our visit meant to them. We ended up posing for a lot of photos with residents and staff alike.”
