BP pulse electric charging bays are now open at M&S Chepstow, offering a convenient one stop shop and charge for electric vehicle shoppers in the area.

The four individual EV charging bays – rapid 50kW – will allow visitors to charge while they shop for their M&S favourites.

The launch is one of seven new charging sites to be rolled out, joining four that have already been unveiled in M&S stores across the UK. M&S and bp first teamed up in 2005 when the first M&S Food store opened at a bp retail site. bp pulse charging bays are now available at over 150 bp retail sites – with an M&S convenience store.

In line with its Plan A commitment, M&S is targeting becoming a net zero business across its value chain and operations by 2040.

Georgia Konten, Store Manager at M&S Chepstow said: “It’s fantastic to be part of the latest wave of M&S stores in the UK to offer bp pulse charging bays. We’ve seen more and more of our customers driving electric cars so now we’ll be able to make shopping all that bit easier by providing a convenient charging spot while customers stock up on those all-important M&S essentials! We’re so excited for customers to start using it.”

Sacha Berendji, Director of Operations at M&S, said: “Investing in our stores to make them bigger, better, brighter destinations for the broadest range of customers, including more family shoppers, is a key part of our strategy to Reshape M&S for Growth. EV charging will become an increasingly important part of the store offer. The new M&S Chepstow bays includes rapid charge points, making it quick and convenient for customers to charge while they shop. It's also an important part of our Plan A roadmap to Net Zero by 2040."
