A popular family-run Butchers business is celebrating 50 years of trading on Monnow Street in Monmouth.
Hancocks of Monmouth is a family-run business and expert butchers with friendly staff based on Monnow St in Monmouth.
Established by Charles Hancock in October 1900, the business has passed down three generations of the Hancock family, all while maintaining the same high standards of quality, mainly British meat.
Having first passed the business on to son Reginald, the business is now run by Charles’ grandson Howard who took over the business in 1973 after 10 years spent learning the trade, and relocated to Monnow Street.
Howard said: “We would like to thank all our loyal customers and the people of Monmouth for their support over the last 50 years, and look forward to maintaining our business in Monnow Street for many years to come.”
Hancocks of Monmouth on Monnow Street is open from 8am-5pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 7.30am-5pm on Fridays and Saturday.
The shop is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
To celebrate the 50 years anniversary Hancocks customers can use a cut out voucher to use to get 10 per cent off all meats, but it is not to be used with other offers.
