A LATE try from captain Rhys Cresswell secured a first win of the season for Chepstow 26-21 at home to Machen in WRU East 3 on Saturday.
Rhys Brown, Tom Bradley and Charlie Harkins also went over, while Max Perry celebrated his 100th appearance.
Usk 1st XV also secured their first win squeezing home 36-31 against visitors Abercarn in E2, and fellow Monmouthshire outfit Caldicot won 20-14 at Risca in the same division to go joint top.
Chepstow Druids missed out 45-14 away to Cleve 2nds however, skipper Rob Pickup with one of their two tries.
Monmouth 1st XV didn't have a game in E1, but the Druids started well the weekend before last, winning 33-24 away to Gwernyyfed Athletic in the Dragons League
Meanwhile Monmouth School's 1st XV under the guidance of former Wales scrum-half and Academy sports director Richie Rees have made a flying start to their season, with three straight wins.
They beat Old Swinford Hospital 29-7 in the Daily Mail Trophy, before a thumping 50-0 home win over Gloucester school Crypt in the first round of the National Cup.
And then they secured another Daily Mail win 43-24 over Cheltenham College, also on their Wyeside pitch.
Next up, they play Sir Thomas Rich's in Gloucester in the second round of the National Cup this Saturday (September 28), kick-off 2.30pm.
