MONMOUTH Young Rugby held their annual awards at the clubhouse, celebrating the success of all players from U7s to U15s, reports CLAIRE EVANS.

The U16s marked the occasion separately, where they not only celebrated team and individual achievements but marked the end of an era with the Young Rugby section.

The celebration of the season kicked off with a bang with the U7s at 11am, with music, a smoke machine and lots of fun.

This reflected the rest of the day which concluded with three U15 players being awarded their 200th appearance caps, for playing every season from U7s to U15s.

Shay Hodges, Samuel Gonzalez and Redley Twomey received their caps, joining Jake Paterson who received his last season, having played up a year in the U7s.

Andrew Davies, Monmouth RFC chairman said: “We are extremely proud to be able to acknowledge the dedication of our players who have been part of the club for several seasons.

"Making 200 appearances for your club is something to be proud of and we’re delighted to be able to mark the occasion for our players."

All players are now taking a well-deserved break, with pre-season training for most age groups starting in mid-July.

Monmouth Young Rugby has a thriving young section from U6s, offering a safe, fun, and rewarding environment to play rugby.
