It was high fives all round as East Gwent Division One champions Thornwell R&W completed their league season with a 5-0 win over Monmouth visitors Rockfield Rovers.
The Chepstow double winners are 10 points clear of Portskewett & Sudbrook who have two games left, and were presented with the league title after Saturday’s match.
Their 2nds also fought hard in the final of the Fishwick Cup against Underwood at Chepstow Town FC’s ground that evening, but the Division 2 champions elect added more silverware to their league title and Centenary Cup triumphs with a hard-fought 4-2 win.
Back in Division One, third-placed Caldicot Castle and fourth-placed Sudbrook CC fought out a 1-1 draw, while in the second tier Tintern Abbey and third-placed visitors Sudbrook CC 2nds shared the points in a 2-2 draw.
It proved a busy week for both Division Two teams, with Tintern hosting second-placed Chepstow Town 3rds three days earlier in a high-scoring 6-4 win for the visitors, while Sudbrook triumphed 4-1 at Thornwell R&W 2nds the same night.
A Grant Reed goal after 19 minutes earnt Redbrook Rovers a 1-1 draw away to Harrow Hill 2nds in the group stage of the North Gloucestershire JO Roberts Cup.
But a Stephen Heaven strike proved a consolation for the 2nds away to Mitcheldean 2nds in the FJ Pope Cup, as they lost out 3-1.
