Four golfers at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools represented Wales at one of the best courses in the world.
Megan Vineall, 17, Harry Paterson, 18, Henry Hurle, 17, and Oliver Christopher, 16, played for Wales in the two-day Independent Schools Golf Association’s Home Internationals at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire.
Woodhall Spa is the home to England Golf and the course is rated in the top 50 in the world and fifth in the UK.
The Monmouth team played against other schools that represented England and Scotland.
The best Monmouth score on the first day came from Harry with a +2 (76) and, the following day, from Megan with a +2 (74).
The format was a team of four players with three scores counting. The Monmouth team finished third overall against some very strong competition.
It was a great experience for the Monmouth students with lots of learning going into the season.
