CHEPSTOW 1st XI climbed out of the drop zone in South Wales Premier Two with a third league win of the season at home to Dafen Welfare.
Tight bowling from the hosts, including two wickets each for Jason Dobbie, Mitchell Harris and Josh Tregaskes, restricted Dafen to 164-7 off 50 overs.
And in reply, sixth man Carwyn James with 55 guided them within sight of the target with Aaron Jones (34 not out), backed by Harris with 25 and Harry Hughes 17 not out, with Chepstow reaching 165-5 with 9.2 overs to spare to leapfrog their visitors to eighth.
The 2nds missed out by eight wickets though in a low scoring game at Sully Centurions, all out for 102 in 31.1 overs before the hosts reached 104-2 in the 29th over.
Malith Madurasinghe top-scored with 28 and took both wickets for 16 runs off eight overs.
The 3rds were runaway 151-run winners away to Blackwood Town 3rds to strengthen their grip on top slot in South East Wales 12E however, skittling them out for just 46 in 25.2 overs after setting a 40-over target of 196-6.
Brent Harkins fired 93 not out backed by Charlie Harkins with an unbeaten 28, before Rashi Kumar took 3-9-6, backed by two wickets apiece for Huw Rogers, Josh Powell and Scott Williams.
But the Sunday XI agonisingly missed out at home to Miskin Manor by just four runs, reaching 213-7 in reply to 217 all out.
Amrullh Ahmadi and Aj Roberts took wicket braces, while Hekmatullah Ahmdi fired 75 and Jared O'Brien 56 in the nailbiting run chase.
