AN extra-time goal by Paul Light earned a fine Harry Fishwick Cup Final victory for Chepstow Town B last Friday.
Light, who has played for a host of clubs in higher leagues on both sides of the River Severn, popped up to score in the second half to make it 4-3 in the best final seen this season.
Until then, the result was in doubt, especially after Castle equalised through James Reid in the last few minutes of normal time having trailed for much of the second half.
Scorers for Castle who looked good value for their earlier lead, were Paul Harris, Grant Avery and Reid while Man of the Match Nick Owen, Chris Kiely Jamie Goddard and Light replied for Town.
Lee Watkins, who took over as Town's manager earlier in the season, revealed he has a pet name for the team.
"The teamwork, support football, and fun this team has, are like no other team I have played for. I call them the "band of brothers".
"With an average age in the squad of 37, they can be a bit difficult to manage at times.
But generally they have a great team attitude.
"We have a couple of Army boys in the team and it's been a case of juggling these players around because of their work commitments. I'm an ex-serviceman so I'm used to that.
"They have steadily progressed beating Underwood B to reach the final and we drew 1-1 at Underwood B in our last league match last week.
"The final was fairly even. We played the nicest football but made the errors as well.
"The team should be very proud of what they have achieved in their first season and I think we can challenge for the title next season."
