With the end of the season closing in, Sedbury British Legion are on course to win the Singles and Pairs leagues after a convincing win this week against the Village Inn.
Jon Worsley hit two 180’s and also hit a 119 checkout, and Lee Ford hit 100 and 126 checkouts as they beat their local rivals 6-0 and 9-0.
The Huntsman Hotel are still in with a shout, after winning 4-2 and 8-1 against the Kings Head, putting the Shirenewton team a point behind in the Singles league, and two points adrift in the Pairs league.
The game later on this month between the Huntsman and Sedbury British Legion should be a title decider.
The Burnt Barn Club ’A’ let slip their challenge after losing in both formats at home to Chepstow Athletic Club, losing 4-2 in the Singles and 5-4 in the Pairs, with Rob Orme and Dave Matthews winning the final Pairs game 3-0 to take the points.
Other results saw Burnt Barn Club ’C’ beat Thornwell FC 4-2 and 6-3, Chepstow Football Club winning 4-2 and 9-0 against the Carpenters Arms, and the Five All’s picked up maximum points 6-0 and 9-0 against the Burnt Barn Club ’B’, with Pete Goodey of the Five’s hitting a 180.
The AGM and Winter league registration will be held on September 13th, 8.00pm at Chepstow Athletic Club. All teams wishing to enter the Winter League need to register at this meeting.
