Have you ever wanted to take on one of the UK’s most hardcore obstacle courses?
Tough Mudder is bringing its popular event to Badminton in South Gloucestershire on August 16 2025, with a 5k, a 15k, and a one mile kids’ ‘Lidl Mudder’ course to choose from.
Tough Mudder creates hardcore obstacle courses designed to test your all around strength, stamina, and mental grit.
The company provides the tools to help you reach goals and events to live out unforgettable experiences.
Every Tough Mudder course features innovative obstacles designed to push participants out of their comfort zone and to challenge them mentally as well as physically.
The event isn't about how fast you can get around the course, but how many people you can help along the way - with teamwork being strongly encouraged.
The 5k and 15k courses are open to anyone aged 14 or older, and the events are designed to be challenges rather than races. The courses aren’t timed, and those taking part can run, walk, jog, skip, or even crawl to get to the finish line.
While there are some signature obstacles and firm favourites, the specific obstacles will vary at each event. Course maps for each specific event will be emailed out 1-2 days prior to the event.
Tough Mudder is not a race and participants are encouraged to skip any obstacle they are not comfortable completing. You are there to have fun and challenge yourself, so if you think a particular obstacle really isn't going to do this for you, just go around it - without a penalty or shame.
There is also a training guide provided on the Tough Mudder site, designed to allow you to crush your goals and get you to the finish line.
If you fancy taking on the challenge with a group of friends, consider one of the Tough Mudder ticket packages, which include a concierge, customisable food and beverage options, and private pavilions and tents.
There are also discounts available for charities and military personnel, plus student and graduate discounts.
