WITH Monmouth's annual steam and country vintage show hoving into view, some 50 classic tractors and 4x4s took to the road for a charity road run.
Border Counties Vintage Club – who run the annual Steam and Country show on Vauxhall Fields – organised the road run in aid of Quest Busters (QB), the Monmouth Bridges-based charity that supports local families who have a child aged 6-17 with additional needs.

Starting in Rockfield, the run headed over the Monnow for a lunch stop at the Royal Arms in Llangrove and included Skenfrith before heading down Manson Lane to Monmouth.
Quest Busters provide a diverse range of events throughout the year, with an emphasis on inclusive and fun activities for the family.
A spokesperson said: "We aim to provide activities where people don’t feel judged, where young people can have positive experiences and where families and carers can benefit from respite and social opportunities."
Frank Strawford of Border Counties Vintage Club posted a film and photos of the run, saying: "Well done team you put on an absolutely brilliant run today. Roll on the show, see you all there."
The club also had a display advertising their 48th Border Counties Steam and Country Show on Vauxhall on Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4, at the recent Tractor World 2025 expo at Malvern’s Three Counties Showground
People can take a trip back in time beside the Monnow via some superb modes of heritage transport, with exhibits including classic cars, vintage buses and commercial motors, military vehicles, Land Rovers, steam engines, models and collectables, stationary engines, motorbikes, bygone bicycles, awning displays and vintage caravans.
There are also dog shows, trade stands, refreshments including a bar, an animal section and an evening show on the Saturday featuring The Dark Tones cover band.
