Monmouth Mayor, Cllr David Evans was pleased to welcome another National Retail Chain to Monnow Street.
"Less than 2 years ago nearly 18% of our retail units were vacant compared to a National average of 14 per cent but now Monmouth's vacant retail units have reduced to about 10 per cent.
“This is a fitting testament to our retailers who have been incredibly resilient during the significant disruption caused by the replacement of water pipes throughout town. The contribution of the Monmouth Chamber is noteworthy and their creative marketing of businesses demands recognition.
“The loss of Lloyds Bank and the Halifax Building Society is disappointing however, the news that Monmouth will have a Banking Hub with cash handling facilities is welcome news. I am also looking forward to the Monmouthshire Building Society opening in their new location with improved access for those customers with mobility issues. Monmouth Town Council will continue their work to improve our town. More on this coming very soon!"
