Celebrating the first anniversary of the building of Thornwell Pavilion, community groups and charities were to be found 'Noggin' Under The bridge'.
Chris Jordan of the Thornwell Football, (Sports and Community) Club was pleased to announce that the pavilion had just been granted an Entertainments Licence so that events held there could now offer a fully-stocked bar.
"We only charge £2 a year for membership," said Chris, "and members can then hire the hall at a discount to the £10 normally charged for non-members."
Organiser Mandy Chambers, events co-ordinator for Asda, said they were proud to support the anniversary of the Thornwell Pavilion having donated money towards the cost of a community project 12 months ago.
