A Caldicot teenager is to take part in the Miss Wales beauty pageant in April.
Abbie Moranda will represent the Newport team along with two other girls at the event, which takes place a few days after her 19th birthday.
"People tell me I am photogenic and some friends of mine suggested I apply for Miss Wales," said Abbie.
"I was persuaded to send an entry form and went to the interview to find who would represent the Newport team in Miss Wales.
"There were some lovely girls there but I was delighted when I was informed I was going to be one of three girls in the Newport team."
Abbie, who works as a beauty therapist, will be fundraising for the Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales in the run-up to the pageant.
She also requires a commercial sponsor for the event.
