The first 5km covered the Devonshire (408m) & Combe Down Tunnels (1672m) followed by some running along country lanes until reaching the Kennet & Avon Canal for a six mile run along the tow path, with multiple locks down to the River Avon including a visit to the famous Pulteney Bridge and Weir.
Nick completed the race in a brilliant time of 1:59:39 and a position 154th. Nick although had a great race, got carried away and went off too quick at the start and ended up pulling a calf at 10 miles so ended with a bit of a limp home but he said he really enjoyed the course and atmosphere and will take it again as a learning experience!
Spirit’s newest member Elizabeth, originally from Bridgend came 294th place in a great time of 2:20:31.
Elizabeth, a keen trail runner described it as a difficult race with some tough climbs but looks forward to re-starting her running journey with Spirit and taking part in many more races in the near future.
