MORE than 200 young people from the Monmouth Guiding and Scouting movements met at St. Mary’s Church on Monday evening, 4th December for their annual Christingle service.
The beavers, cubs and scouts joined forces to sing their Wyesham/ Christmas version of A Ram Sam Sam. The rainbows then sang Jingle Bells accompanied by little hand held bells. Then the brownies and guides sang Silent Night and All I want for Christmas is you, it was amusing to see the scouts singing along with them.
Finally it was wonderful to see the children holding their Christingles, standing in a circle around the church, singing Away in a Manger. Many thanks to Rev‘d Canon David Mc Gladdery for leading the service and Ruth Friend and her young musicians.
