Monmouth Rugby Club is celebrating a very special milestone this year - its 150th anniversary.

And as part of its ongoing celebrations the club held its 150th Anniversary Gala Concert.

The concert took place at St Mary’s Church, Monmouth on February 24 and the church was bursting at the seams when the talented Monmouth Male Voice Choir joined together with special guests London Welsh RFC Male Voice Choir

Both choirs delighted the audience with an eclectic mix of songs before adjourning to MRFC for a most enjoyable and memorable afterglow.

Both choirs performed separately before coming together for a joint encore of Rachie, followed by the National Anthem - Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau, which was sung by all.

Monmouth RFC Club President Byron Hapgood expressed appreciation to honored guests, sponsors and to everyone for their support.

Thanks were also expressed to all those who helped organise and to those who took part to include Choristers, Musical Directors, Accompanists and Compares.

Monmouth RFC elected to take the opportunity of the concert to raise funds in support of Prostate Cymru in memory of Club Patron and good friend Eddie Butler.

Diolch yn fawr to all those who attended the concert and for generous donations made.

Monmouth RFC are proud to be one of the oldest Rugby Clubs in Wales and are thrilled with celebration events to date.

They will seek to conclude this landmark season in style.
