SOME 98 members competed for festive prizes in the Ross Golf Club's traditional Christmas Fayre stableford event.

Veteran, Richard Kirk, after an average golfing season by his high standards demonstrated that he can still produce a number one performance, when his 43 points was just enough to claim the day's top prize.

Club Captain Dave Griffiths with 41 points was runner-up followed by Dave Hart, Pete Neilens and Tony Malim with 40 points each. Other creditable scores were achieved by Lee Cartwright and Nick Ellis with 39 points each and Richard Elscombe, Richard Lloyd and Stewart Jones with 38 points each. There was no shortage of prizes with some 33 point performers able to claim an early Xmas present as well.
