About 1,000 visitors attended the tenth Art in Penallt over the bank holiday weekend, where the work of local artists was exhibited in the fine art exhibition and in a variety of live demonstrations and where the makers’ market showcased a wide range of arts and crafts.
Hosted by kind permission at Humble by Nature, the display of artists’ work spilled out into the ‘lambing shed’ where committee member Alistair Robertson welcomed visitors to the display.
Inside the main building at Humble by Nature, committee members and artists mingled with ticket holders who were given a time-slot in which to view the exhibition with stalls and artists’ demonstrations
Art in Penallt is a not-for-profit organisation, which has the twin aims of celebrating the creative arts and raising money for charity – this year for Wales Air Ambulance and Monmouth & District Food Bank. It is only possible with the support of the many willing volunteers who steward the event.
Photographs and details of future events will be posted on the website www.artinpenallt.org.uk. The organising committee would like to thank everybody involved: their artists, stewards, St John Ambulance, Humble by Nature, the Pig & Apple and last but not least, the many visitors.
