The COMMONS vote on vaccine passports (December 14) raised a conundrum for Welsh Conservative MPs. After Welsh Conservative Senedd members all voted against Labour’s vaccine passports, do Welsh MPs echo their Senedd colleagues or follow the prime minister’s plan? Monmouth MP David Davies tells the Beacon why he voted yes.

He said: "Last week’s vote made it mandatory to show proof of a clear lateral flow test before entering certain types of large events. It also offered the option of showing proof of Vaccination to avoid this. Nobody is forced to have a vaccination, Although having a vaccine Greatly reduces the risk of having to go into hospital, and therefore protects your health and reduces pressure on the NHS. The vast majority of people who emailed me on this matter want all restrictions lifted. The UK government shares this concern. We only bought in these restrictions because it was absolutely necessary as a result of the omicron variant. We will lifting as soon as it is safe to do so."
