Monmouth Rotarians who do so much to help their town have issued a special festive and New Year plea.

They are looking for volunteers to give up a little time to help them with their fundraising.

The club have raised over £55,000 for local and other good causes during 2024 with their raft race and other popular events.

Monmouth Club President David Forbes said while everyone was welcome to join, most of the current long serving members were now in their seventies and even early eighties and some new and younger helping-hands would now be greatly appreciated.

“Yes, we are all about doing what we can to help our local community through fund raising and getting involved with local projects, but it’s also about having an enjoyable time together,” he said.

Aerospace Engineer, Chris Bennett aged 55, said he had lived in Monmouth for over twenty years and always appreciated the great contribution the local Rotarians made to the life of the town. “So, when I found myself with a little more time on my hands, I decided that I too should get involved,” he said.

The club meets every Wednesday evening at The Royal Oak, but anyone able to spare just one evening a month would be most welcome to call Norman Williams on 07748 853 328.
