A MOTORIST who collided with a wall outside a village church is to pay for the damage to be repaired.

The driver initially failed to stop or report the collision outside St Deinst Church and the Garron Centre at Llangarron, leaving the church, which counts on charitable donations, to foot the bill.

But with residents’ help, and a bit of detective work from PC Daryl Kift, the driver was located, and they will now be fixing the damage.

PC Kift said: “A point to remember: It is an offence to not stop/report a road traffic collision within 24 hours.”

The newly developed Garron Centre provides a venue for community or business events within an historic yet modern setting for all events.
