We are excited to announce that Adam Oaten, a promising young athlete from our community, has been selected for the prestigious Cardiff Blues North squad! Adam has already showcased his incredible skills in three matches, impressing coaches and fans alike with his dedication and talent.

His hard work and passion for the game have not gone unnoticed, as he was then selected to represent the Cardiff Blues South. This milestone speaks volumes about his abilities and determination as a player.

But the news doesn't stop there! We are thrilled to share that Adam has now been chosen to join the Cardiff Blues Combined Under 16's Academy Squad for summer training. This is a fantastic opportunity for him to further hone his skills and train alongside some of the best young talents and coaches in the region.

Adam has successfully secured a place to train at the prestigious Cardiff Arms Park! This is no small feat, as the selection process here is known for being rigorous and highly competitive.

Last year we reported that Adam Oaten made a dedicated daily round trip of 80 miles from Monmouth to train with the Pontypridd squad at the USW sports park facilities. The team had entered the Dewar Shield competition 2024, the oldest schools' tournament in world rugby, as underdogs.

Adam Oaten, who embarked on his rugby journey just 18 months ago, was proudly named Forward of the Year for 2024.
