Monmouth Rotary are looking to help Ukraine
Russia invaded the Ukraine a year ago yesterday and the toils and tribulations of that war continue.
Rotary Monmouth continues to provide some local support to refugees of that war currently domiciled in Monmouthshire and have also helped provide a refurbished ambulance amongst the 60 already provided by the Rotary movement worldwide.
The Monmouth public, residents and visitors alike, are always very generous in their giving to street collections and another is being arranged to pay for the five generators bought and about to be transported by secure means to Lviv in Western Ukraine.
You will see us again on Monnow Street on February 25 and we know you will continue to give generously.
No change carried? - We now will have a secure card reader available outside Coffee 1!
See you there, come rain or shine!
Should readers of this wonder why Ukraine and not Turkey and Syria?
A valid question and you may be interested to know, £1750 - the whole of Rotary’s proceeds from their Model Railway Exhibition on the 12 February has already been given to Shelterbox who have been active in providing shelter and other humanitarian aid from the very start of the relief activities.
