A 42-year-old Monmouth man has been charged with four offences following his arrest after an alleged assault in Monmouth on Monday at 4.30pm.
He has been charged with affray, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH), possession of a bladed article in a public place, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Newport Magistrates' Court today, Saturday 17 August. Police officers attended the incident and a man, who had been a passenger in a car, was allegedly attacked in the street by another man.
The victim was sent to hospital for treatment; his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
