THE Sword of Agincourt, designed and created by Josie Harrison of Monmouth Comprehensive School (MCS), is the overall winner of the national Glass Prize 2015.

Twelve year-old Josie Harrison of Llandenny, near Usk, submitted one of her creations to the Glass Prize 2015 award, which aims to inspire innovation in kiln formed glass.

Mrs Chaplin, from the Art Department at MCS, said "Josie is a talented student across several mediums, with a good eye for colour and design. This is a fantastic achievement – Josie has produced a piece of fused glass which has a real connection with the area through the links with Henry V and Monmouth town.

"Josie has used her skill and expertise to write 'Monmouth' in runes along the blade of The Sword of Agincourt.  Monmouth Comprehensive is delighted to be the recipient of the main prize – a glass kiln from Warm Glass UK."

Mrs Chaplin presented Josie with a selection of art materials as a reward for her achievement from the school, which should prove extremely useful as she continues studying art.
