Three prisoners who absconded from HMP Prescoed on Tuesday night have been found by police.
38-year-old Jason Morris, 34-year-old Stephen Booth and 28-year-old John Phillips, all convicted of robbery (separate offences), were located by officers last night and taken into police custody ahead of being returned to the prison service.
Stephen Booth was convicted at Cardiff Crown Court on 13th June 2008.
Jason Morris was convicted at Merthyr Crown Court on 2nd September 2005.
John Phillips was convicted at Swansea Crown Court on 24th March 2006.
All three men are white.
tephen Booth is 5'4' tall, of a slim build with a brown goatee beard.
Jason Morris is 5'9' tall, of a slim build, with brown hair. He has 'Jason' tattooed on his neck, 'Ann' tattooed on his left arm, a swallow, a heart and the names 'Jason' and 'Nicola' on his right arm.
John Phillips is described as of a slight build with black hair and a full beard.
None of the men are registered sex offenders.
It is believed there may be a potential risk due to the fact that these individuals are no longer in the custody of the prison service.
Gwent Police has activated its operational plan with the aim of locating the individuals and the prison is co-operating fully with us.
Members of the public are advised not to approach any of the men if they see them.
