A MAN was arrested after a drugs raid by Gwent Police in Chepstow on Tuesday (September 10).

Officers seized four mobile phones and arrested a 38-year-old man on a no bail warrant after serving a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a property in Orchard Gardens.

PC Hywel Evans, neighbourhood ward manager for Chepstow, said: "We will continue to work tirelessly to crack down on the production, sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Chepstow area.

“We are determined to identify, pursue, and disrupt illegal drugs supply and protect the most vulnerable in our communities.

"The public play a vital role in providing us with important information and we encourage anyone with concerns to get in touch immediately, so that we can take action."

Anyone with information, CCTV or doorbell footage that could help the investigation, is asked to contact Gwent Police at www.gwent.police.uk via the force website, by calling 101 or direct messaging officers on social media, quoting the log reference 2400301774.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, with information.

A totally separate investigation last year in the local area, which led to eight gang members receiving jail terms totalling 50 years, was helped by the supply of information from local people.

Police uncovered the "sophisticated" operation inside the village butcher's shop, now run by different people, in Sedbury
