Road users in Gloucestershire are warned that the M49 is likely to be closed in both directions for most of the morning due to an ongoing police-led incident.

The road is shut along its full length between the M4 junction 22 (Pilning Interchange) and the M5 junction 18 (Avonmouth) with traffic being diverted along the M4 and M5.

People are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
