THE children of Llangrove CE Academy raised a huge £807 for Children in Need this year - a record amount raised by the school, which has 57 pupils.
The sponsored two and a half kilometre ramble went via local nurseries (where they learnt how to grow flowers all year round) then across the fields, taking in a spot of pig feeding, a ‘pit stop’ at Thatch Close B&B and finishing with a brisk walk along the village lanes before returning to school just as the clouds from ‘Storm Abigail’ opened – perfect timing!
The children had a wonderful time and were joined by Llangrove Leapfrogs Preschool.
The children also raised more money by buying Children in Need wrist bands, Pudsey or Blush Bear key rings and buying cakes that parents had kindly donated.
Even more money was raised in the evening at the school PTFA ‘Children in Need’ disco and during break times by the pupil run healthy food ‘tuck shop’.
The staff would like to say a huge thank you to all of the children, parents and friends of the school for their generous donations.
