At the time of writing the polls are predicting that Labour will have a large majority, possibly a “supermajority” in the forthcoming election. The polls are also indicating that only about 40% of the population intend to vote Labour. This is absurd and shows how undemocratic Britain has become. We need electoral reform. I believe that the makeup of the House of Commons should closely reflect how people voted. We had an opportunity to change the system under the Coalition Government. This was strongly opposed by the Conservatives – they may now be regretting that decision.
The more people who are represented by someone they didn’t vote for can only support the argument for electoral reform.
