I AM at a loss re the chaos we face in terms of the immigration scenario. Whilst the Conservatives were undoubtedly slow to get on with a viable solution the Labour Government have undoubtedly made the situation far worse with no plans to deal with the situation in a realistic manner.
The Rwanda plan was not going to be a solution on its own but there is evidence that it was beginning to have an impact by way of a deterrent so much so that other European Governments are now in discussion with countries to hold immigrants away from their counties whilst decisions are made as to their acceptance or be returned from whence they came.
We need immigrants that can bring much needed skills to the UK and they should be given a period of time to enable them to get suitable employment and contribute to our economy however an applicant should be allowed to bring a partner and children but not relatives unless they in turn bring much needed skills to the UK.
We are wasting billions of pounds in dealing with the situation as it stands. Vast sums of money is being spent on hotel accommodation to a standard higher than many of our own people can enjoy.
Much of this should be directed to up grading unused Government and Military bases to accommodate such parties and the savings directed at dealing with issues we have of our own such as Social Services, Defence, Prisons and the NHS although in the case of the latter that would include dealing with the misuse of funds by senior incompetent management such as employing management to supervise the introduction of woke principles many of those enjoying salaries in excess of £100,000.
I have during the last twelve months had stays in the Grange and University Hospital in Cardiff and seen first-hand the stress and strain on doctors, nurses and support staff due to a lack of support much of which can be blamed on those responsible for running NHS facilities.
It is about time such matters were handled by professionals with sound commercial experience in running major organisations and not people with a total lack of experience in such matters. Perhaps the same could be said of running the country as the politicians seem to be making a pigs ear of it !
Why are we still sending money to China and India ? The former buying UK companies, relocating the manufacture of products to China and then selling us the goods we once made ourselves ? India which I have visited on business on a couple of occasions has a sound economy as such but spending vast amounts of money on a space programme whilst ignoring the abject poverty one sees amongst the poor population.
Our Foreign Aid budget needs an urgent review as much of the money does not always reach the organisations that need it, there are exceptions of course but a look at the life style and Swiss bank accounts of some of the relevant Government officials would make interesting reading. Charity they say should begin at home.
Our French neighbours, not so called friends, enjoy UK funds supposed to support steps to control illegal immigration, but all we see is the French Police paddling and watching the departure of such people. Even when they incur difficulties crossing the Channel the French carry out rescue operations but instead of taking them back to France they simply find a UK Border Control vessel and pass them over to allow the UK vessel to complete the journey!
What planet is our current Home Secretary on having already signed off acceptance of 162,000 immigrants previously pending checks.
Could we please find out and introduce an emigration scheme for the rest of the Government to join her together with the woke brigade and others of the same persuasion. I am concerned that much of our hard won democracy and freedom of speech is in jeopardy with what is going on as result of the actions and views of elements of our current society.
