The children at Kymin View Primary School and Llandogo Primary School put pen, paint, and glitter to paper to create heart-warming Christmas cards for all residents, who are fondly referred to as family members, at Gibraltar Nursing Home in Monmouth.
Their sweet and thoughtful messages inside brought smiles to a lot of happy faces.
The cards were created as part of a community campaign to help prevent loneliness at Christmas time.
Some people don’t have relatives to send them cards, and so a few kind words can really help to alleviate alienation. It reminds them people care and that they matter.
A teaching assistant at Kymin View commented: “The children enjoyed making the cards for the family members at Gibraltar.
‘’We really hope they enjoyed receiving them and that they all have a Merry Christmas.”
Gibraltar Nursing Home is based in Monmouthshire and is a part of Evolve Care Group.
It’s approach to life recognises the identity of each of the family members who live within the home.
Creating an environment full of the things each family member connects with allows us to create a true continuation of life for the people living there.
