THE governors at Wyesham Infants school have recently given the go-ahead for a new bi-lingual sign to be erected at the school gates.
The need for a new sign was twofold. The old one did not state that the school has the benefit of an LEA funded nursery and secondly, that the school is bi-lingual. As the children are introduced to the Welsh language and culture from Nursery school through to Year 2, it was felt that the new sign should include the Welsh language.
A nursery class is a very important part of an Infants school as it plays a big role in introducing children to life in school. Those children lucky enough to be able to continue their education at Wyesham do not need a long and protracted settling in period.
All children entering the Reception class will have started school by the end of the first week of the Autumn term and attend for a full day. This is made possible because the children in the Nursery get to know the staff in the school, join in activities, such as the Easter Bonnet parade and are familiar with all that goes on in the school.
For anyone with a child who will be 3 years of age on or before August 31st 2001, there will be an open morning at the school on Saturday 31st March 2001, between 10 am and 12noon. The staff and governors would be pleased to welcome you and your child to chat with you about what Wyesham Infants school can offer.
