The owner of a 9 month old rescue kitten has started up a gofundme page to help with treatment after a preliminary examination found the animal was riddled with fleas and in poor health.
The kitten, called Salem, she was assured had been neutered and flead, but owner Becky Thomas said when the vet examined Salem “we was shocked and upset to find out that he’d only got 1 decent testicle and the other was unfortunately inside him and growing which is called abdominal cryptographic.
“If it is not treated by an operation he will eventually get cancer which as you can imagine has caused us quite a bit of stress and tears to acknowledge what has happened,” added Becky.
They have set a target of £400, half of which has already been raised to help with the vets bill and follow-up treatment and pain medication.
“We are upset and angry that we was lied to about his condition but thankful he’s in the right hands and we will try our hardest to make sure he makes a full recovery from this horrid ordeal and for him to have the brightest future with us,” she added.
He is being treated for the fleas by a flea collar and spot-on treatment which has worked.
He also had a visit to the vets to double check the redness of skin so hopefully Salem will get on to the right track of recovery very soon.”
If anyone can help out, visit the GoFundMe page and search for ‘9 month old kitten’.
“We are thankful to anyone who can help us along this journey to get Salem to full health and we thank everyone who can donate or even share to help this little guy out,” added Becky.
