The Monmouthshire branch of the Society of Authors is excited to announce their next fundraising event, Words for the World.
This will be held on Saturday, November 9th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Bridges, Drybridge House, Wonastow Road, Monmouth, NP25 5AS.
Words for the World will include local authors reading poetry and prose on the topic of the environment, and a talk about the critical role that the group Bees for Development plays in protecting bee populations and promoting sustainable practices around the world.
Meriet Duncan, a beekeeper, inspirational speaker and children's author, who visited the Bees for Development projects in Uganda, will give a short talk. The authors will be signing their books and will also be available to answer any questions about writing.
Supermarkets and local shops have been donating prizes and refreshments for the gig. There will be refreshments and a tombola, along with the chance to meet local authors and buy their books. All proceeds from the event will go to support Bees for Development, a charity that focuses on the conservation of bees and the promotion of sustainable beekeeping as a way to combat climate change and boost rural livelihoods. This event offers a great opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of readings and good company, while contributing to an essential cause. Admission is just **£2.00**, available at the door – cash is preferred.
